Forest activities The care of our forest is our most important activity. We have a rational forestry operation with nearness to the countryside. We use green forest planning. We fell and saw some sorts of timber ourselves – mostly larch. Thanks to our far sighted planning we now have large quantities of good quality larch. This is an excellent alternative to pressure treated timber since it is almost immune to rot. Larch is very suitable for fencing posts and other articles which need a natural protection against decay.
In 2004 Bordsjö Forestry was
awarded a prize for its dedicated work for the environment through its
participation in the restoration of Bordsjö stream. Work was carried out for
the preservation of the biotope by means of a new fish path and construction
of spawning locations to encourage the stream’s valuable stock of
salmon-trout and rare freshwater pearl mussels. |
